This art panel combines the techniques of hyogu with yakihaku, a practice from the world of Kyoto Nishijin obi (kimono sash) weaving. Yakihaku is a unique method in which pure silver leaf is exposed to sulfur, creating a chemical reaction that alters the color of the silver. The dynamic, ethereal look of yakihaku makes an eye-catching accent for interior spaces.
